How Promarix works: two stages, hours not weeks.

Stage I

Set up the search

Start from the matter itself — the patents-in-suit and the technology at issue. Promarix’s Collaborative Case Intelligence™ search process helps you see how each area of experience matches the database, and you tune it until the pool is right. Nobody is guessing at your theory of the case, because nobody has to be told it.

Stage II

Review the experts and reach out

Your setup produces the expert map: every matching profile ranked by depth of experience and by how many of your areas it matches, with the reasoning visible. Open a scorecard, read the full profile, pick your expert, and reach out.

The result: a shortlist you can defend — because you can show exactly how you got to it.

Better than a search firm in every way.

You call a search firm because doing the search properly takes time you can’t spare. Promarix ends that tradeoff — a search done properly, the whole expert landscape with the reasoning behind every name, and a case that never leaves your firm.

A search firm
Promarix
Calls and emails bringing someone up to speed on the technology, the claims, and your theory of the case — someone who has never litigated a patent.
No briefing meetings. You already know the case — you start the search with it, instead of spending an afternoon explaining it to someone else.
Your case details, strategy, and areas of concern leave your firm and sit with a third party.
Your case stays yours. Everything lives in your own Promarix account. There is no third party to brief and nothing to disclose.
Candidates come from the roster of experts the firm has relationships with. That roster silently bounds every list you receive.
4,000+ litigation-proven technical expert witnesses across every technology area, active in patent litigation over the past decade. No roster, no relationships, nothing to steer you toward.
A handful of names, with no account of how they were chosen or who was ruled out.
The full Expert Map. You see why every expert is on it, where the depth is, and what the field looks like — then adjust your strategy accordingly.
Days or weeks. Change the criteria and the clock starts again.
Hours, not weeks. A straightforward matter can take minutes. Refine and re-run as your theory sharpens — you never go back into someone else’s queue.
A percentage of everything your expert invoices, for the life of the engagement.
Your first search is free. After that Promarix is pay as you go: buy search credits and spend them only on the searches you run. No subscription, no license fee, and never a share of your expert’s fees.
Since we started using [Promarix], the number of experts who say they aren’t the right fit for the matter has dropped to just 15%. Former Teklicon Executive

By the numbers.

The technology behind Promarix ran in commercial use for years inside Teklicon, one of the best-known technical expert search operations in the industry. It was built and hardened against real matters under real deadlines. It is now in your hands instead of theirs.

4,000+

Litigation-proven technical expert witnesses, averaging 5.4 patent matters each — updated regularly as new experts appear in new cases.

85%+

Of experts surfaced confirm they are a fit for the case — against roughly 20% for self-search and 50% for search firms.

Hours

To a ranked shortlist with the reasoning attached — minutes on a straightforward matter, hours on a hard one. Never days or weeks.

Why Promarix.

A database, not a bench.

Promarix holds no expert relationships and takes no share of expert fees. Our coverage is not shaped by who is willing to work with us, which means there is nothing for us to steer you toward. You see the field, not somebody’s roster.

The search never leaves your hands.

Collaborative Case Intelligence™ means Promarix proposes the areas of experience and the search terms behind them — and you accept, edit or delete every one. Adjust criteria, re-rank, push into an adjacent technology, screen out a conflict, in seconds and as often as you want.

Transparent by design.

Every candidate arrives with the scoring visible: what matched, what did not, and why they ranked where they did. Defensible expert selection starts with a defensible search.

It finds the experts others miss.

Your network reaches only as far as it already reaches, and the way a patent describes a technology rarely matches the way an expert describes their own work. That gap is where the strongest candidate quietly gets lost. Bridging it is what Promarix was built to do.

Your first search is free.

After that Promarix is pay as you go — you buy search credits and spend them only on the searches you actually run. No subscription, no license fee, and never a percentage of your expert’s invoices.

Your information stays your information.

Your matters, criteria, and results live in your own account. Nothing about your case is shared with a third party, and nothing about your case is used to train anyone’s models. How we handle your information →

Your case stays your case.

The moment you brief an outside search firm, your theory of the matter is in someone else’s hands and someone else’s notes. With Promarix there is no briefing and no third party. Your matters, your criteria, and your results sit in your own account, under your control.

The same discipline applies to the technology underneath. We are deliberate about this, because not everyone in this market is.

How Promarix handles information

What we never do

  • We do not build, host, train, or fine-tune our own models. Nothing you do in Promarix trains anything, here or anywhere else.
  • We never submit case, attorney, or expert identifiers — not even ones we identified ourselves.
  • We never submit any association with a particular case, attorney, or expert.
  • We never submit any association with the legal field, or with any past or future search.
  • We never submit expert resumes.

What we do

  • We use publicly available, general-purpose models from leading providers, and switch between them to take advantage of the best-performing model available.
  • The work is broken into discrete steps, each submitted completely independently of every other — nothing accumulates.
  • Those steps analyze patents and the technology areas underneath them: patent numbers, patent summaries, patent-related experience, and areas of technical experience.
  • Party names are submitted only to resolve alternative spellings, with no legal connection or background attached.

The bottom line: we do not train models. We use off-the-shelf models. The legal dimension of your search is never exposed to them, and identifying information never leaves our system. It is worth asking the same questions of any tool you consider for this work — a vendor building its own models is, by definition, feeding data into them.

Decades of combined experience across IP litigation and technology company leadership — and both sides of the expert witness problem: building the analytics professional search operations ran on, and living with expert selection inside real patent matters.
